* Welcome: Four Detroit-area executives were elected to three-year terms on the 44-member Founders Society Board of Trustees at the recent annual meeting. They are Kenneth M. Davies, Detroit attorney and former Junior Council chairman; Don F. DeGroot, vice president and general manager of WWJ-AM-FM-TV, Detroit; Theodore H. Mecke, Jr., vice president-public affairs for the Ford Motor Company; E. Harwood Rydholm, vice president-civic affairs of Chrysler Corporation.
* España Espléndida is a memorable adventurer in the great art and food of Spain offered exclusively to Founders members. Travel dates are Sept. 5-26, with William A. Bostick, administrator and secretary of the Detroit Institute of Arts, as guide for the artistic highlights and his wife, Prof. Mary Jane Bostick of Wayne State University Family and Consumer Resources Dept., advising on fine points of cuisine. One-woman of the black American sculptor-jeweler-draftsman presents ten large and small abstract metal sculptures selected from the Betty Parsons Gallery in New York and drawings from Chase-Riboud's studio in Paris. Exhibition organized jointly by the artist and Peter Selz, director, University Art Museum, Berkeley, Calif.
