Attention: Mr. Truman

Dear Mr. Truman:

I am writing to confirm our telephone conversation yesterday morning concerning Barbara Chase-Riboud exhibition. As I informed you, the University Art Museum has received a letter from the artist requesting that the display stand which the museum made for one of her pieces be included in the exhibition as it is shipped to Detroit and that she was sending them another drawing for the empty frame. The exhibition without the stand or the drawing is now crated awaiting pick up by a van so that it may get to the Detroit Institute of Art in time for its opening; as you requested we will ship it as it is now packed.

I understand that you will contact the artist to suggest that she ship the drawing directly to Detroit and inform her that the University Art Museum is not sending the stand. Miss Maya Pelletier of the University Museum staff tells me they will be very happy to describe the stand to anyone at Detroit so that the duplicate could be built although she does not feel that it is in any way a special or unusual item. I am sending a copy of this letter to Miss Pelletier for her records as the artist wrote directly to her.

Please let me know if we can be of any further assistance to you in this matter.

Sincerely,

H.G. OLLENDORFF, INC.
