1)  Foreword
B. is one of the radical (Bruce) and most original
(Boswell et. al.) modernistic painters. who showed in the International Show 1913 that he went his own way and paints different from anybody else (W.H Wright 1914). He rejects the new conception of form as being the vital aim of pure painting and of color as being subordinate and only an asthetic element serving to interpret form. B, a born colorist and thinker in color, puts color above form,
considers it to be the very substance of true painting and the language through which it appeals to the soul
