This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter of some weeks ago, and to thank you very much for the check in payment of the monotone drawing.

I have read your lines carefully, but do not find any answer to my inquiry concerning the two large pictures of my father's, which I have been told were sold by you within the past two years. The information given me seems very reliable, and beyond taking with a grain of salt.
