Jones in Cass, Co, by one Mr. Martin Agent of said Jones, against his wish & consent, requests that the boy be returned to him. |

Agent &c Refd to Com'd Official Ga E&M. 349 Vol 4 | Cartersville, Ga, Dec 27th 1867 Forwards communication of a Mr Vail states that he has several cases on hand of the same nature, has failed to have the parties arrested, from want of cooperation of the Civil Authorities, who let cases of their kind go by default, requests information as to what he had better do. 

Allatoona, Ga. Dec 26th 1867 Communication from Mr. A. Vail to Agent of the Bureau at Cartersville, reporting a case of assault & battery,  with intent to kill, committed by a White man upon the person of a Col'd man, the criminal is not assisted, & does not think he will be, by the Civil Authorities. Requests the interference of the Agent in the matter. |

Geo, pertaining to one Asa Crow & Peter Keesler. States that Crow hired Peter, from his mother Fanny Keesler - col'd, for the present year, & Crow now refuses to  the boy up to his mother, also refuses to pay her for his labour. She  desires to have her Son restored to her, also have pay for his labor. the present year, Crow has moved to Cass Co, & took the boy with him.  | 

| Dec 31 1867 143 | Barney J.W. Agent &c L.R. 33. No 102 Transmitted | Carnesville Dec 24th 1867 Transmits sworn statement of Henry Blake (white) & Jordan Bla (Col'd) of Hall Co. Ga in the case of Henry Blake & Levi Wilkie. States that Wilkie can not be found anywhere, encloses original contract between Henry Blake & Jordan Blake, wherein the name of Levi Wilkie is not mentioned. These papers are returned for the consideration of higher authority, as he is not satisfied to render any decision, as the case now stands. Any instructions will be promptly carried out.

Affidavit of Henry Blake, States that he never contracted with Levi Wilkie col'd, bud did contract with Jordan Blake, col'd, to cultivate his land, and he (Henry Blake) was to receive one third of all the products which was raised on said land. Said Levi Wilkie never came or was near the place until about three or four weeks after the contract was made. Further states that Levi was employed in some way by Jordan Blake but he does not know anything about it.

Affidavit of Jordan Blake, col'd, States that he is a brother to Levi Wilkie, he assumed the name of Wilchie not Wilkie, he (Jordan) rented the land of Henry Blake, Levi Wilkie was present when he made the contract, but came about three weeks afterwards, & stated that he was destitute, when he (Jordan) gave |
