States that he sent his partner Mr Daniel to Lt Howard to get the release of 25 bales of cotton, seized & held in the warehouse of Miss Rust Johnston & Co by Howard, further states that the rights of the freedmen shall be protected at all hazards, & they the freedmen are willing to wait for their pay until the cotton is sold, but two bales have been sold so far. |
