Monroe Feby y 1867

Maj -
I have read the within statement carefully and approve the same except in our particular. The indenture recorded in my office Show that William & Buck were could on the 22d Feby 1867 Co A.G. Malcome and that was in addition to what he has stated to give them an English Education & learn them the common rules of Arithmetic.
The children are doing well & have a good home.
The mother was sold out of this county in 1855 for being engaged as was thought in poisoning a white man - from that time up to the first of this year she was never heard from. The father was accidentally killed on the Rail Road some time before the man.
From the abandon characters of the woman I would not be willing
for her to have them some she could claim them-
Yours &c
