Asst. Surg. J. V. DeHanne
Surgeon in chief Dist. Georgia
Bureau R.F. and A.L.
Macon Ga

Sir,

I have the honor to inquire if my resignation took effect from the date of the order of the 16th inst relieving me from duty, and if my pay would stop from that date. My reason for wishing to know is, that I will be compelled by force of circumstances to remain at my Post until Dr. Clements get here, which will not be until next Tuesday - eleven days from the date of the above order. Therefore, if such be the case, I most respectfully request that the order of the 16th inst relieving me from duty may be so amended as to date from the 26th inst, the earliest possible day Dr. Clements can get here from Darien.

I Remain Sir
