Sir My Object in addressing you is to claim protection for a girl of color She lives with a man by the name of Kinan Terril, in Gwinnett She is, 15 years old & He says she is only thirteen & that He has Her bound to him until she is 21 years of age He whips & beats her so that she has runaway three or four times & last week she ran away & came to Decatur & He overtaken Her & tide her & made her walk back again the same day. She is very smart & does all she can to give satisfaction & fails & then they beat her the white people that know her advised her to runaway He has given her as much as three hundred lashes at a time & whas a cruel Master when He owned slaves & his neighbors will tell you the same, she has no relations
