Case an outrage on the person of Simon Livingstone Freedman who being duly sworn depose and sayeth that the above named defendants did on the Knight of the 20th Instant in Marion County, while said (Simon) was under sentence of the agent of the Bureau, and at the time he was working under said sentence, hang him by the neck with a chain untill he lost his breath then they took him down, and Blindfolded him and stropt him severly, which the marks of the strop is plain to be seen, he thinks they gave him one hundred licks, then Sims put a pistol to his head and threatened to blow his Brains out, they then took small switches and all three of them whiped him with them severly, all of the above the said Simon swears is true, Sworn to & subscribed before me this 30th april 1867.

I had the parties arrested and brought before me under the impression that the crime was committed in this county.
