W G Sims sworn for Deft says, on last Saturday nigh was a week ago he was at his brother Henry Sims at Mr Muritts plantation in this county, got there between 9 & 10 oclock A.M. & staid until about 2 oclock in evening then went to Mr Champions, went back in evening & staid all night, got there about sun set - Henry Sims was at home, witness stips in the House & same room, went to bed between 9 & 11 oclock  His brother was there & went to bed & thinks if his brother had went out he would have known it.

Says his brother might have got up & gone out & he not have known it, but thinks it is very improbable, Simon was chained in Stathams house & was there next morning. did not speak to Simon next morning. There was no whipping on the place that night that witness heard of.
