New York March 26th, 1869

Col. C. C. Sibley,
Savannah, Ga:-

Dear Sir

I had the pleasure of informing you that the U.S. Bank Purveyor left this post on Saturday, with 11.637 bushels of corn to be delivered to you, or such person as you may appoint to receive it. This Purveyor is not a steamship, but we hope she will have a quick and safe passage, and that the corn will be early distributed among the suffering communities of Georgia. The Purveyor has also 18.000 bushels of corn for Mobile, and a like distribution in Alabama

We hope soon to hear of the distribution made of the corn sent you by the "Memphis." We have heard nothing of the 4.000 bushels ordered to Atlanta from Cincinnati some seven weeks ago. The three lots make about 22.500 bushels sent by our Southern Famine Relief Commission
