for distribution in Georgia. We hope to send more.

In distributing the corn now sent Permit me to ask you to consider the claim of Fayette County. Mr. W. H. Blalock of Fayetteville the Secretary of the Committee of Relief for that County, gives me a certified statement that 1650 whites and 500 blacks are in a state of great destitution there. We have also a deplorable account from Mr. John Mills, Lawrenceville, of suffering in Gwinnett County - from William Hawes M.D., of Barton, of like suffering in Jefferson County, and a similar account from Mr. C. P. Jones Tibeauville, of Ware County. We have no instruction to give with reference to these particular counties, but we hope their claims will receive your consideration in distributing the supplies sent by our Commission.

Hoping to hear from you soon, I am,
Very truly yours,
Edw. Bright
Com. Sec.

P.S. I have written to Governor Jenkins informing him of the shipment of this corn to your care.
