together with an unexpected act on the part of his partner, compelled him to give up his plan and leave his plantation for the want of means to carry it on.

He is now a tax-payer and resident of the State, has been received with favor by the people there, and by serving upon juries and in other ways has identified himself with the interests of all parties. He thinks, that could he return there occupying some position, that would in a great measure render him independent of all persons there.

If however there is no position in that locality that you can confer, it would be a great benefit to him if some employment at your disposal could be given him.
