81 B 35. O.A.C. Vol 2. 1867 Waynesboro. Ga. April 27 1867 Belcher Edwin Agent &c Reports relative to distribution of supplies in Jefferson and Emanuel Counties that in future there will be no misunderstanding about who is to receive aid - Encloses letter of Judge Tanner to Mr Caswell, Agent &c directing him to distribute only to widows and orphans of Confed. Soldiers. [[stamp]] The National Archives of the United States [[/stamp]] I informed Mr Caswell that such was not the proper disposition to be made - that the Supplies were intended for the destitute of Jefferson county and not for widows and orphans alone. I instructed him to disregard the orders of the Judges - and issue to 32 B. 9 O.S.A.C. Vol 2 — 1867 Waynesboro Ga April 27th 1867 Report in reference to distribution of Supplies to the destitute of Jefferson and Emanuel Counties Edwin Belcher Agt. Bureau RF & A.L Office S.A.
