Calls attention to the advertisement of U.S. Marshals Sale of lots No's 1, 2, 3 & 4 Block 49 City of Macon  states that the small-pox Hospital is situated on these lots and asks to have the sale postponed. states that since Jan 1866 he has admitted into the Hospital 700 persons with small pox and all except 50 were freedmen & that six freedmen are now in the Hospital under treatment for small pox

Respectfully forwarded to Col. C.C. Sibley U.S.A. Asst Com'r State of Ga. "approved" and earnestly recommended as the within mentioned buildings were turned over to the City of Macon in view of their taking care of all cases of small-pox among the freedmen thereby saving the Gov't the expense of maintaining an establishment of that kind.

Genl, with the information that I have not received any authority to postpone the sale of the property referred to within, and that unless I do receive such authority I shall sell it as advertised but probably with the reservation that possession shall be given at such future time as will least interfere with the existing arrangements.
