Lieut Martin

I mentioned to a member of the Sup Court the complaint in your letter, when he told me 100 bushels of corn were for distribution, & that they had reviewed our half which would be distributed as deserving objects should be presented of colored persons, and that they had allready distributed to 4 colored persons. That the distribution will be made in good faith in [[as ?]] made manifest, yesterday, on dismissal of the juries, who had been in attendance on the county court, when the judge mentioned that he has been informed by the High Court that they had corn for the blacks, & who requested that they would make known to the court, desiring objects among them, and that they would give the proper information in their neighborhoods.

I will accept the appointment of your agent which you so kindly tendered me

Respectfully
Yours &c
