D. 103, Vol. 2. O.A.C. 1867.

Recd OAC Jun 15" 1867

Office A. Comr Bureau R.F. & A.L.
Savannah, Ga., Feb'y 9th. 1867.

Respectfully returned to J. B. Davenport Esq., Agent Bureau R.F. & A.L. for Taylor Co., who will investigate the account between Archibald Mathews and certain freedmen mentioned in enclosed contract; and ascertain the amount due the freemen, after deducting all purchases of supplies and other material for the year 1866, for which the freedmen became liable according to the terms of their contract. Mr. Davenport's attention is called to the fact that the enclosed bill of supplies furnished by Archibald Mathews purports to have been furnished for the year 1863, and the contract is dated January 1st 1866. As this bill was not furnished Asst Walbridge at the time of his investigation, the whole matter of accounts between Mathews and the freedmen should be examined, and the balance due the freedmen collected.

These papers to be returned with report.
By command of Col C. C. Sibley,
