Dear Ms. Blaine:
When Mrs. Poindexter suggested several years ago that I have an exhibition of your work I replied I was certainly interested in the work but explained the difficulties of launching an artist well known in another territory but unknown in this area. With her persistence and Tibor's commitment to your work, combined with my feeling that the timing was beginning to be more appropriate, I agreed on May 11, 1977, to mount an exhibition of your work in December with the conditions that I receive a 40% commission on all sales and that I be allowed to keep the work for a minimum of twelve months to hopefully establish your work in this area.

Since I received your work on consignment from the Poindexter Gallery under those conditions you might imagine the difficulty I am having when I today received your notice to return immediately ten or eleven pictures. More specifically, the two pictures reproduced in our announcement of your show and four of the pictures in which there is definite interest. (At the moment, out on approval are: Ledge in November and Cosmos in Night Interior. Reserved to be tried when a new condominium is completed: Shades Garden and Live Oaks and Porch on Gloucester Harbor.)

I want to cooperate as closely to your wishes as I feel I can bend the original agreement without jeopardizing this gallery. I will agree to send back ten works on our next truck which is scheduled at the end of this month.. I will encourage decisions the above-mentioned reserved pictures in an effort to send as many of your specifically mentioned pictures back as I can.

Congratulations on your new association with the Fischbach Gallery. It is a logical and excellent choice which should be mutually beneficial.

With best wishes,
Marvin
