Miss Neil Blaine
210 Riverside Drive
New York, New York

Dear Miss Blaine:

I was quite surprised to read about you in the World telegram yesterday. Although I was aware that you have been ill, I did not know the extent of your illness.

My wife and I have always admired your work greatly and so we were pleased to see that you were able to paint once more. I hope that in the very near future you will be able to regain the same wonderful control over your subject matter that you had until recently, that is, if it hasn't happened already.

Since we are virtually neighbors (I live at 230 Riverside Drive), perhaps you would permit me to visit you some time, if you welcome such visitors.

Sincerely,
Richard Elman
