Dear Nell,

I got the notice for the newsshow in the main last week, and am looking forward to seeing it before I leave for the summer.
In the midst of all the hubbub and screaming mania of finishing up my last (or rather, most recent-no need to think fatalistically) job, I have been trying to organize my private life back into some semblance of normalcy. One of things I've been trying to get around to is organizing various elements of a two month trip to Europe. Quel horror, as you well know.
You may ask yourself, when is he telling me this? There is a very good reason, opportunistic little devil that I am. I'll be swinging from France to Spain, to Italy, then back up to Austria and Germany, and as I was going to be in the area, the thought of a visit to Zur Karalpe came to mind.
I know that you usually rent it out in the summer, but wasn't sure what the status of the house was for this year. I asked David if you still had it, as I knew you had talked about selling it at one point, and he said ja, so I thought I would be presumptuous enough to ask about the possibility of staying there for a few days around the end of June, beginning of July.
If the house is occupied, or opening it for guests involves a great deal of time or bother, then don't worry about it. But if the house is available, I would like to see what sort of arrangement we could work out. I don't know what the usual rental is, and if would probably be geared towards a longer stay than a week, but if it is open and empty, I would love to discuss it further. I will in all liklihood see you at the opening, and you could let me know then if there is anything to discuss. If so, we could make an appointment to talk over details.
