Dear Nell

I wondered why I had not heard from you & when I received your note I was saddened. It is true the loss of one's mother whether there was a closeness or not, but more so if the former state existed does have tremendous impact. I'm sure the knowledge that you have become a remarkable painter with an every widening audience had been a comfort to your mother.

I am very happy for you about the purchases - everything helps! Museums contribute to extending your presence and longevity as an artist & a very creative one!

Mercy still has not gotten any insurance and two fine works of mine which the former president had gorgeously framed had hanging in the student's lounge were stolen so dear heart - until we have some coverage - I wouldn't want to be responsible for any of your beautiful works being swiped even if that
