Dear Nell,

We have been in the Midwest for a good part of the Fall and Winter, and I'm just getting around to answering a backlog of mail. Out there for 3 months working on a lithography project which failed utterly. Crashed. On with the job.

It was terrific seeing you and your work in Richmond. It had to be quite a night for both of us, surrounded by relatives and well-wishers. And that fantastic party at the Lewises' house was not like New York at all. I got to the Museum early and got to see your show, and it was very beautiful. It was so good to see all that lyric paint and color flooding those rooms. Richmond was very lucky to see all those pictures. I'm also happy to see you've been working so hard.

Spaeking of that, Sondra and I never get out of here anymore, or do any entertaining. I meet people on the street who say "Oh, in from the country, huh?". But one day let's get together. We'll call you up and arrange something. We've bought a place in the country, and all Summer goes to fixing it up, but next Fall let's do it.

Thank you for your fine note.

Love,
Sondra & Jack Beal
