know the feeling of finding a kindred spirit. The part of Pennsylvania where I live is wild, empty, & mountainous. Quite gorgeous actually. Daisy farming is still the main business, and still on the family scale, too. You can go from here to Elmira on the main road and not pass another ear the entire way, a good half hour drive through valleys, along a winding, little road. 

We have lived out here in Mansfield for over seven years, My husband, Terry Porter, is a writer, has been teaching writing at the Mansfield State College. We have a very old farmhouse and a barn out in the middle of one of these gorgeous valleys. I have a very messy unfinished - good for working - studio in one third of the barn. A couple of rows of old windows keep it warm and bright in the winter and a pot-belly stove helps alot
