II.

What the originals must really look like. I particularly liked the Australian landscapes.

We are well. Marcey & I both preparing to have exhibitions in a gallery which opened here about two years ago. You never admit we're really hitting the big time - but it's been fun seeing work up (we each showed in beginning of 1980) & getting the local feed-back This time I'll be having a sort of mini-retrospective with work spanning the years from 1937 to the present.

Still find it as challenging & interesting to live here as ever, tho' the town is growing by leaps & bounds & will soon be a totally changed place. We'll have to look for rural hide-aways in some area not too close to the troubled border with Guatemala - For the time being we love our home & surroundings & of course the friends.

I came down with a heart attack which fortunately didn't cause major damage, last Feb. It's taken me all this time to recuperate but I'm very much better & getting ready to tackle new work. It was a most interesting experience presenting me with lessons I'm still trying to benefit by.

Marcey asks me to jam her feelings to mine for you & Carolyn.

With an "abrazo" from the "wilds" of Mexico - Janet -
