Dear Nell,

Thank you so much for your very kind, encouraging letter. I was really thrilled you liked my work. It's a tremendous compliment, and I'm very grateful for your agreeing to write some letters for me. I'll have to find out a little more from the foundations I'm writing to about what they require regarding these references and let you know later on. Thank you so very much. (I did realize when I sent the letter and then tried to call you that you were out of town because of the message on your phone--please don't apologize for that.)

Tony, my boyfriend, and I were up in Fischbach about two months ago and saw some of your landscapes, and I really love one in particular--I'm not sure where you did it, because the paintings were leaning against the wall and I didn't see the titles. They were all fine, but the one farthest from the entrance was my favorite. I inquired about the price and realized I'm not in that bracket yet. If it's ever convenient I'd really love to come up to see you again and your work sometime. This particular painting looked like one of the tyrolean ones.

Again, thanks so much. I'm desperate for models and am doing everything possible to finagle people and funds for posing.

With best wishes for the holidays,

Sincerely,
Judy
