[[note]] from Marvin Freedman
illustrator & painter who just started, one day out of the blue "-writing to me- N [[/note]]

Dear Nell,
by the time you get this, you'll probably be basking in the rain in Gloucester. God knows, with the weather the way it's been, you probably won't be basking in any sun. But maybe. Who knows?
I want to thank you for your wonderful, patient letter and all the nice things you have said about my new work. You've given me a great boost and I've plunged into new things. It also gave my family a great lift. Now if I can get the mortgage compaay lifted a little, all will be lovely.
You were very kind to take so much time and write such a fantastic letter.
I hope all your problems with helpers and assistants and the rest are resolved by the time you leave or soon after. If you can't find anybody, drop me a note and I'll come up and make you some borscht with a big boiled potato ala the Russian Tea Room. You can pay me by allowing me to stand behind you whilst (whilst?) you paint.
Have a [[strikethrough]] s [[/strikethrough]] great summer and feel great. Maybe you'll allow me to drop by in the fall and say hello again in person and show you whatever new things I've one.

June 12
Best,
Pierre
