as regards Anna's not being his equal. They certainly are young-both of them! How old is Gerry. I tho't he was 19 his last birthday, but Galla said he was 18 last month.

What in the world made you put your hair up so soon for? Don't you hate wearing it that way? I'd put mine down now, if I could.

I am going to carve two frames for the photographs [[?Paniechen]] took of the play & I am very anxious to have a copy of the play. You know I have a wretched memory & I have already forgotten a good deal of the play and as I don't want to forget it all I am intensely anxious for a copy. Will you ask Gerry if he won't let me have one? Please do & also urge him. When I wrote him a few days ago, I was so full of his engagement, that I forgot to speak of the play.

Galla was here two nights. She was down on a short N.Y. visit & spent Saturday with me. We had a beautiful time. We went for a drive & picked quantities of hepaticas-the first large number out. I had picked four or five at a time, but we got enough to fill several vases. It was indeed a joy & a benefit to see her. She is so lovely & fine - I felt I was having a splendid lesson while I was with her & I hope I may be able to improve from it. It made me realize very fully how unkindly critical I often am & willing to believe things of people from only hearing one side-the unkind one. I have laid a lot of very irritability to my illness & I still think some of it comes from that, but I am trying to overcome that tendency
