when one is busy, but do try & realize how much it means to me here in this uninteresting place, and get names of all you dear people. I suppose I shouldn't expect any letters from Gerry now, & yet I haven't entirely stopped hoping he might send me a line. Of course I know that he doesn't like writing & now that he is in duty bound to write to Anna, and that he probably does not want to be bothered writing to friends, but for all that, I wish you would remind him that a letter sent to Katouali would be properly welcomed.

What are you all doing & where are you spending the summer? You can't be enduring Florence's heat, surely.

You must recon, from Hilly, of Gerard's being ready for college. He passed his final examinations

"With flying colors," but in case she hasn't written you since the great event, these are the facts.

If you get this letter, please do answer it soon and tell me systematically the news of all the family. What are Mary's bright eyes up to now? Has she developed any particular talent or shown a leaning towards anything? And what is Tribbie doing? Don't forget; I want to know about all the children as well as Mr. & Mrs. Brush, Gerry and you.

With much love[[much love underlined]] to all, your underserving self included, your very affect. friend,

Jean L. Clemens.
