languid, cold & decidedly unattractive way. Well, as you may imagine I was in a quandary. After Dr. Peterson had said that especially where my disease was concerned, it was bad to remain as much alone & in my room as I had been doing - even when occupied & had therefore raked up his to me disagreeable plan for relieving the situation, I set to work to find a way of getting the necessary relief & diversion in a way more agreeable to me. And I have found it. The crafts-teacher is a young girl about 21 or 22 & I asked her if she played "squash." It resembles tennis, but is played indoors & is much more violent. She played a little, she said, & would be glad to play. So from now on I shall play squash every afternoon with her. And I think that very much healthier than sitting around talking with a supercilious-acting (she may not be, of course, I don't know her) lady.

We are having desperately cold weather already & there has even been snow in some parts of New York State so I hope we shall be able to begin the winter sports before long.
