other things in the world it's unbelievable. To try and force yourself into this little narrow confine is, it'll just fuck your whole being up. At any rate, I find it ludicrous that the leaders of the revolution demand that the women make coffee while they write manifestoes about the Vietnamese. But nobody else, I mean, people don't even recognize what's going on, they just make these assumptions; that that's OK.
But the fact is it's a fundamental change that's necessary; it's a change of attitude, a change of self-perception, and a change of reality framework in the society; We all know that very sophisticated men, sensitive men cannot got to war; and they cannot go to war, they cannot kill, not because they don't have the same potentials all those other guys that are out there, but because somehow or other they have realized themselves more fully as beings and feel themselves sufficiently that they see other people as human beings, and that prevents them from killing them as if they were objects. Now, until all men see each other, and all women see each other in that way, there will be no revolution and there will be no change and there will be the same old shit.
Well, how do you accomplish that change? You don't accomplish it by violence, because as soon as you pick up a gun you have made yourself the same person who is opposing you. It is not whether it's effective that is the issue; it's what you have to do to yourself in order to shoot a gun. To be human is to not allow yourself to see other human beings as less than yourself; that's the meaning of being human. The problem with the revolution of minorities is that they are minorities, and therefore they are forced ultimately to make a stand that leads them to violence. The only revolution that's capable of that kind of change is the revolution of thinking attitudes and perception between man and woman that's a confrontation on the most intimate level, absolutely down the line until man and woman stand looking at each other naked and together. And we're a long way from that.

My own aims...My own aims involve first my own liberation as a human being as an artist. I will not make art that looks as if it was made by a man; I want to make art that looks as if it was made by a woman. I want to be proud that I'm a woman; I want to use everything about me
