June 10 '72 (an anniversary of a kind)

Dear Connie,
On the TWA flight to Tel Aviv, we've gone through a search and boarded. Now a 1 1/2 hour late departure due to security precautions taken. Little and I know I was herded to Tel Aviv when we called and moved up the flight this evening. Paris is first stop. We're almost empty.
It was good to see you thin and active, decisive, measuring carefully all excesses, preserving the attractive ones and temporarily shelving the questionable ones until you feel the new life evenly leveled on course.

The atmosphere: the address, the neighborhood, the restaurant appeal to me. No pretentious showy stuff for the peanut gallery. Strictly business, art business, light and sunny and clear with all the basic comfortable trappings from dozens of trips around the world in the art garb and circuits.
