#11 Wall [[strikethrough]] George Jensen Center for Advanced Design, New York, 1968 (Originally designed for the Jensen Center, this wall is now in the showroom of Directional Furniture [[strikethrough]], New York) linen size TK Sheila Hicks collaborated with Warren Platner in composing a cohesive environment in which all the elements - Hans Wegner furniture, walls, floors - in natural colors and organic materials, unite to create a lively exuberance. The linen room has two long facing walls of wiry wet-spun linen tassels looped at one end and cut at the other. They are stitched onto the linen base cloth, [[strikethrough]]Sheila's[[/strikethrough]] Hicks preoccupation with the spirally wrapped tassel, first seen as an integral outgrowth of pile construction in the earlier "Prayer Rug" series, is here developed into independently constructed elements applied in a rich, random composition.
