Serving counter is blue glazed tile with butcher block track for pushing trays. Eating and serving implements carry through the colorful theme of the restaurant: red-orange plastic trays, tableware wrapped in Prussian blue napkins, bread in gold baskets, 14-ounce red-orange and off-white china soup bowls, coffee mugs in deep Prussian blue and white. Red plastic signing announces the soups of the day over their appropriate cauldrons. Wall behind the serving counter is in bands of Mexican tiles - dark blue glazed tile, matte-finish patterned tiles in terra cotta and white, plain ivory tile on the upper band. Dropped ceiling of serving area is of bronze plates secured with exposed bronze nuts; gold Tovi bulbs accent the joining of the plates. Wool tapestry was designed for La Potagerie by Sheila Hicks.
