The statue now in America differs materialy in the draping about "the support," from the original. It is therefore not a duplicate (ie, an exact copy) whereas the other is an exact copy, and it was commenced though not finished before my own, -- no one could dispute my right to keep the best if I chose to do so, and yet I have told Mr Robb that he should have it, and I am still willing that it should be so, provided he has not done anything to compromise my good name in America.
I could say much more to [[render?]] still more clear the integrity of my position in regard to Mr Robb, but will not, believing that no more is required. I wrote by the last parcel of letters sent through your hands to Mr Kellogg and I told him to give me another credit on London, so that you will soon be reembursed. I owe you a thousand thanks for your great kindness which I hope to requite in some measure soon.
With kindest wishes for your success. I remain +c.
H Powers
