From Teeny Duchamp
28 West 10th. St. New York. November 18 1868

Dear Beatrice:

It touched me very much to learn all those details about your life. I know you appreciated and loved Marcel and that this was also a big loss to you. Much as I miss him, I am so grateful for the almost magic way he died. I am quite sure he did not know when it happened and that was the way he always wanted it to be. So to the very end I have memories of his happiness and joie de vivre, and that is the important thing.

With much affection,
Teeny.

Dear Beatrice. March 6th. 1969

It was so curious that the very instant your letter arrived I was contemplating a trip to California. It seemed almost providential, and I certainly hope that we can arrange to see each other. I am planning to go to Houston March 24th. and from there to New Mexico, and will make a short trip to Los Angeles to see my son in early April. Would you be able to come to Los Angeles?

I enjoyed every word you wrote me about Marcel. It made the past become so alive and real, and I thank you for your long letter.

I am glad to know where your papers are going. I was going to write you to find out whether Helen Freeman Corle was still in California. I have the things she wrote about Marcel's work in 1949. They should certainly be kept. Perhaps they could go to the same place to which you are leaving your papers. What do you think? Can you send me her address and I will ask her what she would like me to do with them?

With warmest regards,
Teeny
