Dear Teeny:

It was sweet of you to send me such a warming letter, when you were down with every bone in your body broken. I hope it is not quite that bad. I am horrified you had such a terrible accident.

You do not mention when you will be up, ow long it will take for recovery. I see that you are very brave. If it is any consolation, if the accident has only broken bones, surgeons do marvelous things.

I hope you will be well enough to see me? The days are rushing by and soon I will be in Paris, arriving by TWA, the only through flight from Los Angeles to Paris the morning of the 25th. I shall try to sleep on the plane, as somehow, somewhere, I do not have it quite clear, a night is lost on account of the time change.

It has been many years since I was in Paris. I look forward to visiting museums. I was brought up there as a child, one of my fondest memories riding in the bois de Bloulgne in a tony cart with my governess. . .aa era gone back into forgetfulness. Then when I was in late teens I studied acting under eichenberg of the Comedie Francaise and Jules Leitner. But I found i them academic and traditional, and was not happy. This is so long ago it hardly seems real.

Everyone warns me of the cold. I am stopping at Hotel des Deux Continent 25 rue Jacob. I used to live on Rue Mousieu. I wonder if it s near. I have forgotten the map of France.

Counting the days,
with much love, hoping your ordeal is lessening and that soon you will be out of the woods. One difficult thing about life is that we cannot share the physical pain of loved friends,

Beatrice
