Upon her handing me Mr. Foster's letter, with all these facts before me, I refused to take any action, when she would give me security for the costs, Abner her husband having failed to pay for previous court expenses, light as they were, & I having no way to compel payment.  

I am of opinion that if the parties were to be arraigned, Antoinette would be satisfied with this exercise of her spite against Abner, & she would again go home with him, to be followed [[strikethrough]] with [[/strikethrough] by another squabble. 

This my labours in the matter would be interminable & had to no result.
