In anticipation of the act of Congress for supplying the destitutes which has not yet been approved, I am directed by Gen. Howard to request you to furnish information at once on the following points.

1. How many persons in Ga. will need food in April to prevent great suffering?

2. Can Corn & bacon (or pork) be purchased within the State, and at what prices?

3. If you need supplies from other markets, to what point should they be consigned?
