Bartow, Jefferson Co. Geo.,
Sat. night, March 30th, 1867:

Col. C.C. Sibley:

I have this evening received a letter from N.Y. of which the following is a copy:

"39 Park Row,
New York, March 26th 1867:

"Wm Hauser M.D. Bartow, Ga.

Dear Sir:
We shipped on Saturday, in the U.S. Bark Purveyor, 11,637 bushels of corn to the care of Col. C.C. Sibley of Savannah, having previously shipped 6,500 bushels to the same port by the Memphis. It would be well for you at once to let the wants of your county be known to Col. Sibley, or to Governor Jenkins, thro' whose joint agency the corn is to be distributed. The Southern Famine Relief Commission sends this corn, and would be glad to know that your county has its share.
Very truly yours,
Edw. Bright,
Cor. Sec."

Now, my dear Col., altho' I have not the honor of an acquaintance with you, I ask respectfully, that you will "hear me for my cause"
