War Department Bureau Refugees Freedmen and Abandoned Lands Washington D.C. March 16th 1867 Mr Charles R. Holcombe is hereby appointed an Agent in the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands in the State of Georgia, at a salary of One hundred & fifty dollars per month. This appointment is made under the provisions of "An Act to continue in force, and amend an Act to establish a Bureau for the relief of Freedmen and Refugees, and for other purposes." It will take effect from the date of taking the oath required by law, and remain in force until revoked by orders from this Office.
