Mr. Dove 2 May 3, 1933

on your courageous and constant devotion to your own point of view and on the really splendid works of art created thereby.

Best wishes,

Sincerely

DP. E

P. S. Could you send me a personal letter telling me as much about your life and your ideals and intensions for your art as you would care to have me use for my written interpretation? And could you permit me to keep the paintings all summer? The picture I am trying to sell in order to raise purchase funds may not be disposed of until early in the fall as it is to be included in the Century of Progress Exhibition in Chicago and might be acquired by the Art Institute out of the exhibition. I shall send back to Stieglitz the Town Scraper but would like very much to keep the others.
