Mr. Arthur G. Dove,
Geneva, Route III,
New York.

Dear Mr. Dove:

Your letter left me uncertain whether you had applied with Mrs. Force or with Gordon Washburn at Buffalo but since you expressed interest in doing a mural project I wrote to Mrs. Force about you. She wires me in reply that she has not heard from you and hopes that you will do so promptly. Since for personal reasons you cannot leave Geneva I suggest that you show your work to Gordon Washburn, the Director of the Art Museum in Buffalo, who is on her committee, and get an up-state commission for a mural. In all probability the committee would take what you have been doing.and Mr. Washburn could come over to Geneva to see it if you write to him about it. The Washington quota is now full. Best wishes,

Sincerely yours

Duncan Phillips
