Dear Hedda-

When one passes the age of 79, one is inclined to pause and train appraising glances upon the past. Out of this past, your image, comes to me particularly often, and, I think of you with affection and gratitude. Am leaving this criminal city of crass ignorance, traitors and scavengers without regret. I do not hope to come ever back.

My best wishes to you and your husband—

Ever sincerely yours,
GRAHAM
