ex-ministerial opposition peaceniks for a meeting with those ANC negotiators who so effectively resolved the conflicts and remnants of Apartheid and laid the firm foundation for a new South African democracy. They shared their experiences of hazards and achievements in their negotiation process. I'm certain there are good lessons to be learned. 

There are problems everywhere, but they are working hard knowing that there are no convenient switches in a fuse box on the way. 
Nelson is looking extremely well, in fact glorious, away from the presidency, but nevertheless intensely involved and active there and everywhere, doing good. 

The visit was a fine respite from the rubbish and angst of this place. Tami and I are tentatively engaged in small talk of going abroad, perhaps in July or August, to say hello to children, grandchildren and my sister in London, and then, possibly, come to New York to bless your birthday. It might even happen.
