I think that this is a very important thing about all of your work. This idea of distance, your own distance that you keep from it. Is this because of this feeling that you don't want to get that close to it?
ANDY
Yes, I don't want to get too close to it.
INT.
You never in any of your work have ever really said anything that tells anyone anything about you and you don't want that to happen.
ANDY
Well, there's not very much to say about me....We've gotten so busy at the factory, we're so busy all the time that there's not really time to think about things.
INT.
It's very curious that you should say there isn't very much to say about you and yet at the same time there are all these people who are so interested in everything about you. There's some kind of an inconsistency there, Andy.
ANDY
Well, it's all the other people doing, doing, I guess they seem to make it really work.
INT.
