Mrs. Dwight F. Davis, chairman of the committee, returned from her Southern sojourn for the opening. Mrs. George Angus Garrett, vice chairman, deferred her European trip in order to be here. Mrs. Paul Mellon, recently made a member of the committee is expected from Middleburg, and other members in town will be present.

Two Women Sculptors Will Be Present.
Added interest to the exhibition is given by the visits of two famous women sculptors whose work is being shown, Lucille Swan, who is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Carter Vincent, old friends these many years, and Cornelia Van A. Chapin, sister of Mrs. Francis Biddle, and guest of the Biddles while in town.
Mrs. John W. Garrett, sister of Mrs. Henry Leonard, a member of the committee, has loaned a famous piece of sculpture from her collection for the exhibition. She and Mr. Garrett have a fine and important collection gathered on their many travels, and Mrs. Garrett, who is by way of being an authority on art, sponsored an art gallery in Rome when Mr. Garrett was United States Ambassador to Italy.
Mrs. James Parmalee has lent two pieces from the collection made by herself and her husband during his lifetime, Paul Manship's "Flight of Night", a beautiful bronze, and Hunt Diederich's bronze, "Fighting Goats".

Bronze by Famous French Sculptor
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bruce have loaned a bronze by the famous French sculptor, Charles Despiau, "Portrait of Mrs. Bruce".
The work of other famous sculptors, well known both here and abroad, is included in the exhibition, which bids fair to be the most important show held by the committee of the gallery.
