with some Western cities of equal size - $75, or half the receipts of the evening, whatever they may be. I do not wish to be considered exorbitant in my demands, but as this will be the last lecturing tour I shall make, and so many engagements are proposed to me, I must naturally make choice of the most remunerative.

Please let me know as soon as possible, whether these terms will meet the views of the Committee.  I have had numerous proposals made to me to lecture on my own account, but I prefer lecturing before Societies, where such are willing to make a fair division of the profits with me.
