New York June 26th 1946 My dear Sir, I hoped to have been able to have renewed my visit to West-Point ere this- but as I may be prevented for the present- take the liberty to ask you to be good enough to give me some material for a sketch of your labours as an artist. I do not want merely personal facts so much as the subject of yr principle works- the influences which have chiefly formed your taste & the views you entertain of y'r profession. I wish, if possible, to write a brief but just mental portrait & any information you feel disposed to give me shall not [[strikethrough]] to [[/strikethrough]] be used in any way to offend your delicacy. I am about leaving town - but anything sent to No 76 Warren St. will duly reach yr's Very sincerely H.T. Tuckerman To Robert W. Weir
