My dear Mrs. Twachtman,

I am glad to be able to send you a check for two more pastels. The double one of the "Red Cottage" and the "Brook and Bridge" and also "The Marshes".

I realized when I got home last night that I completely overlooked a very nice part of your letter regretting that you did not see us on Monday, a week ago. That particular day Mrs. Macbeth and I were in Atlantic City both trying to get over a sudden and rather severe attack of the Grippe. It struck us both early the week before.

I am sorry that everything got knocked out of my head even to the point of not letting you know that we were not coming. It was awfully good of you to make such splendid preparations for us and I am more than sorry that we were not there to avail ourselves of them.

Yours very truly,

Mrs. J. H. Twachtman,
Greenwich, Conn.
